Cod and Plaice Empty
PostSubject: Cod and Plaice   Cod and Plaice EmptyTue Feb 02, 2016 2:13 am

Interesting how these two are found in river estuaries.
From many years ago- I had some friends tell me about catching plaice from a "hole" in the Conway river, would this have been where the marina is now?
Do they catch any in the river now?
I remember a report in Angling Times of someone catching a 40lb plus cod not far from Glasgow. he was using a home made jig made from the inside door handle from a taxi, this was 50 years ago. I would not have wanted to be a taxi owner after this report!

I've never caught a thing in that river yet apart from a palm sized Flounder years ago Embarassed

Catching a fish from there is now on my 2016 things to do list fishing

Not quite up the river, but I caught a schoolie bass in the river at low tide by the road tunnels, strong outgoing current , quite shallow
