Acting on a tip we headed for Mostyn to fish over the top of High

Expecting tide run and snags I decided to give the uptider a run out
and to stick with big lug baits and squid flags in the hope of a Coddo

Tina has moved up from a bass rod to a beach caster and as she was putting it together she asked where the tip was.....er my fault ....it's a multi section rod and I'd left the tip at home  - Doh!

We'd have to share a rod

9 casts, six leads and three moves later and barely a rattle to show for it we packed up

Back at the car another pair of danglers has just packed up having fared similar but at least they'd exchanged their leads for a Dab.

My tip is count your rod sections and your leads!

Is this the "fun ship" mark? I don't know the marks too well.

Not far out, from Prestatyn heading towards Greenfield turn left opposite - ish the click tower building in Mostyn ( not sure of its official name) at the top of the lane by the sea defences to fun ship is a few hundred yards along the defences to your right and Mostyn Docks a few hundred yards to your left, vehicular access isn't too testing but parking is at a premium. If all parked up you'd have to park on the main road and walk. For the Fun Ship itself you'd probably be better carrying on towards the market area ( not fished the Fun a ship myself)

Mostyn has a strong tide pull and I wouldn't have bothered on this tide but gave it a go at the top of the tide based on Cod coming out a few days before. Probably best to have a low tide recce with the rod.

I find with mostyn, top of the lane and to the left(towards the docks) fishes best 2hrs either side of low. To the right or other side of the fun ship, better 2hrs either side of high. Don't know why, but had some good sessions either way. ice
