| It is a great question I too don't have any issues with this but I do use a swivel at the start of my rig and where my lead is. |

| Are you using fixed spool or a multi and what line are you using?
I use a F Spool just a line clip on end of main one ( 15 plus usually a shock leader) and a swivel at the top of the rig. Varying sizes really but haven't got the issue I visualise you to have |

| You really should be using a shock leader with 15 lb. line, at least 10 lb. breaking strain for every 1oz. of lead. if you then connect your rig to the end of your shock leader with a swivel ( I use rolling swivels rated 100lb. ) that should solve the problem, or it could be if you`re using a fixed spool, that the line roller on the bale arm is not turning freely. |

| Thanks for all your replies, first I do use a shock leader I didn't explain it very well sorry, I checked the bale arm that seems ok. I use a size 2 swivel on the end of the shock leader, but I didn't use a swivel with my lead but I will from now on. Thanks for your help. Alan. |
