Just came back from scarborough/filey today after having a well earned holiday on a site called blue dolphin in filey the same site has last year.
After blanking at filey last year I thought i'd give scarborough east pier ago at the first chance I had which ended up being Thursday evening.
I got to the pier (a wall next to the harbour) around 9:00pm with 2 whole squid that I bought from Tesco has I wasn't paying over the odds for crap frozen lug again
I only took my really light set up couldn't be bothered carrying a big beach caster, seat box etc.....
Their was a few out still fishing and they were catching the chap I was next to had caught cod, pollock, pouting, mackerel and dabs so I was thinking I was in for a good session.
Has I sent my 5th piece of squid to the bottom I had a cracking bite FISH ON This little coalfish and a first for me
And that was it 1 small blank saving fish HAPPY DAYS
2nd Session
Same venue this morning and I was joined by logger who came up on the Friday with has lovely wife anita and has youngest son hari my son cole also joined us It was the last thing I did before we drove home
When we arrived their was again quite a few fishing but we all managed to squeeze in after we did abit of water craft tested the wind and picked the right rig we could see the fish right underneath us so even we couldn't go wrong
We all caught Pollock and coalfish which was great fun as you could see the taking your bait
So that's it for another year we all had a great time topped of by the loggers joining us which was the icing on the cake

Great report and pictures mate it was a great couple of days with you all Thanks for the invitation
A brilliant place to fish with the kids we had lots of fun with the light gear and watching the fish attack the bait in the crystal clear water just topped it off a treat
But you did have to watch out for pirates

If anyone is going to try this kind of thing by the way the killer bait for the day was prawns
The Squid got some attention as did the lug but as soon as we dropped a small piece of Prawn on a small hook into the water a feeding frenzy began
