| I took Rhys for a go at the Mackeral which have been showing at Colwyn Bay after school this evening. Sadly, when we arrived, the water was very coloured and there were rafts of floating weed all along the prom. It must have been rough yesterday when i was on the lash in Chester? ( Like i was this morning! ) As it was quite busy there too, we went to North Shore Llandudno for some extra space and in the hope that the weed wouldnt be so bad. It wasnt great, but we had an hour with no success. We then spent some time getting Rhys casting for himself, and were quite pleased that he was hitting 20 - 30 yards by tea time. We will keep at it, and have another go for the Mackies next week. We didnt see anyone catch one, either at Llandudno or at Colwyn Bay when we stopped off on the way home. |

| My youngest son who is six absolutley loves fishing and regularly comes with me. he has his own bass rod and reel and will sit and watch the tip for hours. i tried to teach him casting and he can cast about 20yrds with freshwater gear. need to get the kids into fishing, my eldest just wants to sit indoors on the ipad but my youngest wants to be out there bait digging and fishing. His favourite fish is a thornback ray which is odd as he's never seen one caught, i wouldnt even know where to look along this coast! |
