It was closed some weeks ago ( maybe months now) I understand someone fell off the top and this is why it closed. It is closed to vehicles though I believe you can walk on, I did read a report of someone being turned away by someone as it was a work site but I don't think this is a general situation.

The work you've seen may actually just be the concrete arches being kept there ready I hear to be transported by sea to Blackpool to cover a sewerage pipe.

So far as I know Stena have not issued any official statements so some facts being passed around might be rumour only.

Apparently there is a match scheduled on there so all is not lost.
