Folding Fladen Sand spike, a round rod with a flattened bit at the end about 8 inches long with a plastic tube about 8 inches long to stand your rod in, might hold fast if you wedged it a rock crevice and use a 2 foot rod I suppose.

mine would be a telescopic coarse fishing rod I bought last month for my wife Embarassed to take on holiday with the daughter and grand kids cheers, she threw it away in the first x2 days the eyes kept falling down ,the joint kept twisting and the wrapping on the handle was coming undone and when she went to cast it would collapse into itself  it was £15 waisted

Everytime i buy bait! I really have no excuse when ive got a lugpump and live so close to the beach.

I was talked into buying a fisheagle casting multiplier after being told they could be easily converted from levelwind to no.
just wanted a back up multi as, although i love my abu multis, ive had two die prematurely during shore sessions so wanted a back up reel. sure enough when the second abu multi packed up, the (difficult, but converted to non levelwind) fisheagle multi lasted a whole 12wks before packing up as well!
I brought an old leeda riptide casting multi from a bootsale and removed the braking blocks and greased itvwith WD40 and rocket fuel. it casts beautifully ive landed bass to over 8lb on it and it cost me literally a couple of quid.
had my abu reels serviced and repaired my mr Quentin Millman of QM services in portsmouth. excellent service and he charged me nothing to replace one reel after it died on its maiden outing (inferior spindle - rare and it bent distorting the frame) unfortunatley, i was deployed to afghanistan weeks later then got wounded in action days before i was due home sustaining extensive shoulder injuries which required 15+months rehab stopping me from beachcasting as i couldnt cast! By the time i got to the point where i could cast further than my 6yr old, the beachbug was truly chewing on me ass so i went to sort the gear and saw that my reel was totaly knacked. i contacted the abu centre ran by mr Quentin Millman and his team, explained the problem and he told me to send it back. a few weeks later i got a brand new abu multi free of charge sent back as a "thankyou/apology" for serving the country and for the reel breaking so quickly. it restored my faith in humanity and all my abus go there to be serviced now!
I made beachcasting part of my rehab as it helped me get strength and movement in my Rt shoulder and was posted nr southampton and fishing magazine lane in the docks. there i was very lucky to have my best season ever, soles to 3lb+ thronies, bass to 10lb + on freelined pout under the rodtip, starry smoothounds to 6lb+ gurnards, eels, whiting, dogfish, bull huss, plaice, i could go on and on. moving to wales in feb on discharge, ive had lots of flatties and caught my first codling & cod to 6lb off splashpoint which really made my spring!
Now bass are my favourite species and ive fished for them for years. my Pb is 10lb 8oz on pout livebait freelined in the marginsl rocks and weed. i watchedvthe bass stalk the rocks so close i could have touched it. it sucked a dead pout from the surface right by my feet to i plopped a livebait in the same spot and he nailed it and the battle was on! He has weighed photographed and released and witnessed by a load of match anglers who all then slid traces hooked onto their mainlines with pout live/deadbaits hooked on. the margins were full of bobbingvpout and not another bass was hooked that night! lol!
