Well my basing fishing not going to well this season , when I have the kids it falls on the spring tides , this weekend it was a small neap tide to get my fix , with winds south Westlie and not the north Westlie I wonted I had to make do and get my fix ! .. So opted to fish pensarn as there as been a few bass out lately in the right conditions , and I didn't fancy driving any further .. Had bass of this venue on the smallest of neap tides but needed a good surf . There was a nice little surf on as I arrived at two hour before low .i drove onto the beach at the cafe end and drove right to the end as there a nice gully u can fish on neap tides at low and high ..word of warning don't drive right onto the loose pebbles our you will end up in this position ..
Great start !! Nearest car to me was about 500 yards away so asked him kindly if he Gould tow me out , he said he would be over and help me in five mins , so I went back to my car and waited like a Lemmon for at least 20 mins for him , he then got into is van , I thought he was going help me and he just f*cked off!! .... So I thought sod it got my gear on and made my way down to my mark !! , my plan fish two hour each side of low ,have a dinner break then fish two hour each side of high .. Fishing one rod with two hook flapper and blowlug ..
Dug some blowlug to put on my first cast and cast out , and just kept diggin and recast every 15 mins on the ebb tide first cast while I got to work to dig some more worm a man walking his dog in the surf got tangled up in my line , can't believe some people don't think your line comes from your rod !!
You know when your going have a bad day and this was deffo turning out to be one of those days !!
It was now low water and not had a touch , looked up to see some one in a 4x4 nr my motor so I spied my chance and ran upto him , with in 5mins he got me out , cheers owddd and he was a builder to ...so back to the fishing on the flooding tide I though I might get a bit of action two hours of the flood ,this is all I had to show for my efforts
One tiny flounder
Feeling bit low and tired as driving all these miles to get my fix and only catching flounder everytime is starting to wear me down . If I lived by the sea it would be a different story as I could make the most of when conditions and tides are right ..was thinking about going home after I had a bit of dinner as the sea was flatting of ,but got plenty fresh lug and I was here , so you got to be in it to win it !! .. There was loads of rods out for high water and I didn't see a single fish landed ..I ended up with a tiny plaice ,but couldn't be bothered take a pic ..had a good chat with bigun , good to chat with you owddd .. Ps wish I gone home when I thought about it lol , don't mean to sound negative , because I'm usually positive with my bass fishing , but this season really got me down !!
