2014 The Final Mersey Trip

It was a sad day today to think that I'll have to wait for almost another year before venturing out on the Mersey again

But what a way to end the year

It was a cold day aboard Suveran 2, dry with plenty of sunshine which tried to warm us but didn't quite achieve its full potential

The fishing was a little slow at times but the fish we caught made up for that

Simon kept us all going with constant brews and Julie had sent him along with plenty of lovely hot stew and crusty bread for our lunch

Ade picked me up at 4am After a breakfast at the Birkenhead golden arches we soon boarded and set off into the river at 6.45

Baits were Lug, fresh and frozen plus Squid that we bought on the boat from Simon.
I went through 11 packs of Lug and a box of Squid.

Things got off to a good start

When it went a bit quiet we had to be content with the smaller fish

Then we moved along the river to another mark

Where I managed to catch one last decent Codling to end the session on

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY

I asked simon to wind dave up over his new beachcaster
saying that they were crap and that shakespeare had some problem's with them lol!

I believe dave wasn't impressed lol!

Not the best days fishing but there's definitely worse ways to end the year. Thanks to everyone that's come out with me, been a poor year for getting out with the weather but you've all made it very enjoyable for me when I have and look forward to seeing you all next year
