Couldn't resist the title and I wasn't using a treble so it still fits



The more you fish Talacre the less painful that walk becomes and it seems to be getting shorter too

Ade, Arty, Tim and myself met outside the Smugglers inn at 16.30hrs  and marched towards the 2nd green buoy trying to avoid the worst of the wet muddy holes which cover the beach car park except Tim who took a direct path through the lot as he had his waders on, personally I think it was because he was in a rush to wet a line after being away from it for so long and didnt care if he got wet or not  

My plan was to fish a one up one down flatty rig fully armed with luminous beads and some stinky sticky lug tipped with a tiny strip of Squid then later switch to a pennal and try for a Codling

After half an hour this plan went right out of the window when Ade shouted he'd caught a Codling
I switched my flatty rig as quick as I could for the big baited pennal and cast it into the channel waiting for my Codling to arrive

It didn't

After three fruitless casts I gave up and went back to the good old beaded flatty rig
For a time I was tempted to use my 2nd rod with the pennal but I was just to busy drinking tea and chatting to the lads and trying not to feel guilty about breaking the promise to myself that I wouldn't go out until i'd done my tax return
Somehow the fishing seemed more exciting so the tax man came 2nd  

Stevo text asking how we were getting on and relayed that he had a bet on with his son Cole that I would probably blank or at least only catch a couple

At this time I was on fish number 13 so He owed Cole a £1
Another bet was placed that if I caught 25 then he'd double it to £2
Im glad to say that Cole's trust was well placed in me (must have heard about my glow in the dark rig) Sorry Steve hope you paid up

The biggest surprise of the night though was young Arty who for a joke put on a little piece of a McDonald's chicken nugget, which he'd been keeping to snack on and actually caught a Dab on it

Got home by 23.30

With a fish almost every cast and often a double it was a session to remember

That's a shame I was told it was a cracking fish I think ade might
still have it in his fridge

Excellent report and a cracking title, perhaps we should run a best title poll this year!

Great report nice set of pics and fish well done to u all

An observation:
In the first picture you can see a small length of line from the blood knot connecting the hook
Instead of trimming this right back as advised when making your own rigs I'll leave it so it will pierce the worm therefore helping to prevent it from becoming a pile of mush around the hook point
