Motored over to the Fens for a spot of Piking in my brother's playground where he match fishes every week

After an initial issue with apparently rubber hooks he finally put the first one on the bank

Tactic was to keep moving around the Fenland dykes using local gen on where Pike had been nicking match anglers's inbound fish, cast a lure a dozen times and if no take move to the next peg and then on to the next venue

We covered quite a few miles today

Saw some very Pikey spots and a few pikey looking people too!

Some of the drains have very steep sides and. A local trick is to tie a rope to your car and use it to get up and down the bank, not sure what you do if someone drives off with your motor!

Pete pulled into the lead with two bruisers and a smaller jack I didn't photograph

The sun was setting and an 8 hour session was drawing to a close, no Pike for me but a cracking day out with Bruv all the same

Ready for a good sleep now!

Cheers all,
Pete match fished today, he didn't do too well but 4 Pike were landed by match anglers ( they don't count) Pete lost two Pike himself today, one had grabbed his worm and one seized his plummet on the way back in!

Meanwhile I've invested in one of the 4 section lures that he landed his Pike on, I may also be needing a tippier spinning rod
- Pete's imparts a good action and this lure looks incredibly lifelike as it swims with an enticing action imparted with a quivering of the tip compared to my poker like Bass spinning rod

Scotland could be good but It's a long way to tow a boat to Loch Lomond!
River Weaver maybe? Nearer your way!

Yes mate my neighbour has been having plenty of them upto 20lb from the side it's full of them and is in walking distance but there's always a match on he goes down just as the match is ending and all the bait fish are about and does very well the slip is two mins from my house but the match anglers don't like the boats going up and down
