This rod suits my style of casting it is a bit heavy but i use a rodrest it has great bite detection and at 14 ft it does very well in windy conditions. I use multilier reels but it is rung for fixed spool reels aswell. I pendulum cast most times and this rod coupled with a multiplier will cast 200 yards plus with a clipped down bait.
I have used this rod in the straits and on beaches it as no problem handling 2/3 doggies
