It was Decided we would give Whitby a try so off we went arrived nice & early in the afternoon met up with Dave who had been out uptiding on mistress he had a great day too sixteen nice cod before we even started shore fishing . So off to the chippy haddock & chips then on to the west pier there were quite a few on already but most went within an hour or so as they all had kids in tow & it was a bit cold we got set up & chucked in Dave had a codling straight away not big but codling never the less shortly followed by a small billet Andrew had a small codling too me I was getting hammered constantly by what I would imagine were small whiting & billet but couldn't connect at all. Paul the skipper of sea otter 2 came on he was fishing a match & showed us how it was done pulling three codling in very smartish then that was it nothing much else to anyone we left about ten so a blank for my first cod session I just hope the blanking isn't going to continue for months like the last seasons cod hunting
