| Launched Notbad 1 out of PSC at 8.30 yesterday and a Bass on the drift early on ticked the box Chucked a white and then a red gill on alternate drifts until I got fed up with that and moved out of the drift line and anchored up to offer frozen crab and lug and and occasionally lob a lure out Must fix that hole in the landing net! Scores on the doors 1 Bass, 1 Smoothie, 1 Doggie, and half a dozen Dabs. Eventually 7 hours afloat was taking its toll and it was about time to head in...just the unbunging, draining, strapping, lightboard fixing, prop covering, cabling, towing, manhandling down the drive, washing down, coiling, stowing, flushing, cleaning, greasing, locking, tarpauling and flask washing to do Knackerred! Drifting off to sleep would not be a problem! |

Bit of a find that, in B & Q Rhyl the other day, it's the largest size tub, yet light and was only £4 or £4.50 ( can't quite recall ) handy for dropping fish, rigs, lures and just about anything else into, being bright orange it works well as a prop cover when towing and if it comes to it would work well as a bailer. Am I the only one who goes around spotting things that, "look handy for fishing". Talked myself out of buying a syphon pump in T K Maxx tonight! |

- Great report and pics Paul, well done,i soon get tired of working the plastics and prefer to fish at anchor
Tiring for sure, I was flying solo, trying to position the boat on the right drift line using line of sight on landmarks ( I've no proper GPS ) casting a lure whilst keeping a 360 degree watch with lots of other boats around all drifting a slightly different course and speed, then you get a take and you're playing the fish still keeping a watch out and reaching for the net, or you think you've had a take but fishing the lure hard on the sea bed you've actually snagged up and line is screaming off the reel as the boat drifts down tide ( you suddenly realize how fast you are drifting!) with the lure caught firmly on a rock and you holding on to the rod with one hand and reaching for the ignition key and turning the wheel to track back under power towards the snag, reeling in as you go to try and free your lure from the other side and no sooner have you cast and retrieved then your motoring back uptide for another drift. Not that I want to be pulling the anchor up too often either! Love it out there though! |
