Our club match at Penmaenmawr was over low water last night, everyone caught doggies, some more than others, with our dogfish rule we catch and release any after 2 fish, we keep the best two alive in a bucket for weighing and count all the rest as a kilo each. There was only one other fish weighed in, a flounder of a pound and a quarter,
the winner was Mike Peters with 12 dogs, the second man had 8, and third 6.
The rest had varying degrees of success, I was 7th with 4 dogs.
We usually fish this match around the second set of big tides in October, this experiment may not be repeated, it was hard work last night for most of us. I think the water clarity might have had something to do with it, I was wading about 100 yards out to cast and I could still see my feet!
