Snotty Saves The Day

Tan Lan

Fished a very flat sea over low water yesterday evening with a gentle south westerly blowing.
Bait was freshly pumped yellow tails which were just oozing juice and scent.
Didn't get a bite except for crabs until it started to go dark about an hour into the flood when on my last cast before going home a few light rattles on the rod tip suggested something was taking an interest in my flatty rig.

Thinking it may have been a Dab I left it to develop and hoped that there may be another out there to take the 2nd hook.
Mistake   
It was a small eel and it had wrapped itself around and around the rig causing such a tangle that the only way out was to cut it free with scissors   
On the bright side though it beat a blank, the fish went back unharmed and I got home just before the heavens opened

nice report dave and no blank my last 2 trips to kinmel have both been blanks  looks like I should have gone to pensarn

no dave and the last time i went it was a great surf and not a bite and didn't see any body else land a fish
