| Lets hope it goes well for us all and at least you got a few replies Dave which is always good, think we all had more small coddling last winter and even now and think it can only be down to mesh/net sizes, new ideas and working together to recognise the problems and manage the future |

| About 3 years ago I sent an email to Chris Ruaine our MP re- netting activity he communicated with the relevant E A offices with no real changes on the way So I suggested that every member concerned about changing the bylaws emailed him, he would then be forced to take more action...............not many if any did.............also the local news paper quoted " its not news worthy" Try again nothing to lose

| You have a point there Jack 41cm is a legal take size although it should go up to 45cm so they can reproduce at least once. I personally wouldn't take one under 45cm. |

| Thats a very good point Jack but for me its not so much the catching of the Bass in the nets but all the other fish that are caught up and die, after the nets have been out there is quite often Dogfish, Whiting, Codling laying on the beach rotting where they have been left. I think its a terrible waste. I've been told of people who net responsibly by checking their nets regularly and releasing undersized fish or the unwanted species and ive no problem with this practice at all. On the same note you see Dogfish that have been purposely thrown up the beach or left on the promenade to die just because the angler doesn't like Doggys and considers them a nuisance and that is every bit as bad and that is what I dont like one bit, its a shameless act of cruelty in my book |

- Logger,
I wholeheartedly agree with what you say about netting.
By the way, I am not a Bass fanatic because I think they are the most over rated sport fish in the sea.
Thank you for your comments.
Tight lines. Quite agree with you, i'd say pound for pound Mackerel put up a much better fight especially when you have 5 or 6 on light gear all swimming in a different direction at once great fun. I think we're in the minority though |

| Agree with Jack, the legal limit for bass is a woeful 36cm, the angling trust recommend 48cm's !! as anything smaller hasn't had the chance to breed |
