With the next section of gunwale on I was starting to wonder how top heavy the model of my real boat might get and how the trim would be given that most of the weight to add will be upfront.
No doubt a marine architect would do some complicated maths,
- no chance of that, this is a make it up as I go project, off to the bathroom then,
The outboard is closer to a short shaft in proportion whereas the real boat is longshaft engined, adding the kitchen cutlery a piece at a time, followed by a jug and anything else in reach showed me the boat will need more ballast than I'd thought and this will need to be towards the stern to get the prop in the water.
I've yet to fit the side keels but I was impressed with the stability all the same even when a good swell was simulated.
Plenty to do yet and I've got the urge to get the real boat back in the water- I'm going to need a bigger bath!
