Our club match at Penmaenmawr last night saw the usual bags of dogfish and a few pin whiting caught over low water and the early flood, but also half a dozen thornbacks.
Most of these were in the 3 to 4 pound region, which didn`t count as the minimum size for matches is 5 pounds, the only one big enough to weigh in was my specimen of 8 lb. 2 oz.
This was a good baptism for my new reel,
as it came in a double header with a 2 pound doggie. Unfortunately I only had 6 dogs to go with it, so finished in 4th place.
The winner had 12 dogs, and 2nd and 3rd had 11 each.
