Our club match in the Conwy estuary on Sunday was hard work, with winds gusting to gale force and snow melt water coming down the river the fish weren`t interested. Added to the fact that fresh crab were harder to get hold of than rocking horse droppings, it`s no wonder that only 4 of the 15 anglers found any flounders at all!
Gary Bates must have had some quality frozen crab, his 3 fish for 1.99 kgs. beat the rest of the field added together, his best fish, a superb specimen of 1.03 kgs. ( 2-04-04 lbs. ) would probably have been a 3 pounder if it hadn`t been spent. I`ll be back there in a couple of months to see if I can find it when it`s had a good feed lol!
