Been trying now for a few weeks to try and get a decent pig.
So in the last 2 weeks ive had 5 outings and used 50+ crab and im getting a bit annoyed i cant get one.
The mersey seems to be throwing a good few out and my thoughts are they've got to be in the dee aswell.
A mate of mine who works on the river has said he's had a few big un's mid channel. so hence the 5 outings and ive fished nearlly the same spot everytime at different states of the tide.
1st outing. 2 small and 1 taker.
2nd outing. 1 small one.
3rd outing. a blank.
4th outing. 2 small one's.
today. 2 small one's and a taker about 3lb.
In total its only about 2hr's a session so today i tried over low up.
bait used was a mixture of fresh/frozen crab on pulley pennels varying the sizes of the hooks. and can safely say best size hooks have been 2/0. at 1st i used 4/o and i must of missed about 6 good bites.
Next outing a day on the mersey next sunday all day.
