with me and degs trying so hard for the hound's some days you have to get it right.
so after the last time we hit it right we've been having more sh**ers than success. last thursday night i tryed and failed with just a couple of dog's so deg's go's out next tide and has a blinder.
well p**sed of i cant get out with the mrs having an op ive had too wait till this morning.
the wind was wrong the tide too high and i wasnt confident. neither the less i gave it a go.
So up early doors and there in plenty of time. set up 1st rod banged it out and proceeded to set up second rod. put 2nd rod together and put it in rod rest then turned around to get a reel out only to here a clatter.i picked my rod and rest up and a it was a bite. straight into my 1st hound on my 1st cast.
so out it go's again and set up 2nd rod. out go's the 2nd rod and straight away a bite and 2nd hound on.
starts winding in and it snaps off. the result was a broken tip ring which in my excitement i never noticed setting it back up.
so that was it down to just the one. which was a case of good job as the hounds started one after each other.
this went on for about half an hour i had another 4 and 2 missed slack liners and a single snap off.
It went dead for anothe hour with just a few of these.
Then on low i had 2 more missed slack liners until i get a pup.
Frustrated by now having missed so many hounds and losing 4 sets of gear i thought id try a pennal rig. and low and behold i struck into a bite thinking i had a good one on to find a double header on the pennal.
buzzing by now and quiet happy i thought id have 1 more chuck and home before the mrs and kids got up. and 1 more bite that went to ground and snapped off and that was it rod down and home for a big fry up very happy.
