Decided it was time to change my line, loaded my night set up with Ultima Red Ice and headed for Garford Road with Mehmet right on Low Saturday night.
Three or four others were out between Splash and the Pipe
With a fair number of smashed razor shells and starfish on the beach in the wake of the recent storms I opted for a 2 hook clipped down, fresh lug on the top hook, sticky lug on the bottom, both tipped with razor.
Double header on the second cast, a whiting took the fresh and a flounder took the sticky.
Third cast and a dab preferred the sticky.
Fourth cast and a pin whiting hitched a ride on the fresh.
90 minutes after Low and a dab finally found Mehmet's bait.
As the flood started in earnest the fish disappeared and resolve sapping rafts of weed arrived ( I'm glad I'd changed my line ) which was pretty well the story of the next 3 hours.
With the moon clouding over there wasn't much incentive for staying out to see what the lunar eclipse had to offer.
Still no codling.
