PostSubject: A fish a chuck   Thu Oct 20, 2011 8:35 pm

Fished aboard Jensen with Tony Parry on his first trip back on the Mersey. Went out for 9hrs in the hope of catching my first thornback ray.
Started the session with a nice cod of 5lb 8oz

shortly followed by my first thornie of about 5 or 6lb. Was absolutely delighted until it assaulted me and left me with a slice on my hand which is now full of lug juice...nice... After getting some handling lessons from the master I got a photo

We picked up a few whiting and doggies and then moved onto the bank for slack water where we picked up loads of dogs, whiting, dabs and a few more rays.
We then moved back up the river for the flood and as soon as the tide started running it was a fish a chuck. Had 7 cod between 2.5 and 5.5lb and 8 thornies the best of which nearly dragged my rod in and after a great fight in a strong tide I landed this beauty of 9lb 12oz

Another great day out with a cracking curry courtesy of Mrs P.
Very Happy
