Been off work with “A VIRUS” for a week, trouble is you get fed up stuck in the house all day and not feeling well, so I thought I’d dig out some old photos which I hadn’t scanned yet, I must have a couple of hundred at least, from tatty old Polaroids to 35mm slides. Most of these go back to the mid to late 70’s when there seemed to be more fish about (perhaps it’s rose tinted spectacles). Although we used to put the hours in, in those days. Driving down to Anglesey on a Friday night, five of us cramped in a MK 1 Cortina with enough tackle, bait and food for a full weekend session, and fishing probably 2 or 3 different marks at either low or high water.

Anyway here are some of the photos I’ve scanned……………….

The Llandulas pics are actually Aberdyfi in early Feb hoping for a Bass, didn't get one. Crying or Very sad
The last pic of me at Dinas Dinlle with a Plaice took a lot of photo editing. All the old Polaroids
are badly faded, some beyond salvage. At least now with digital photography somebody in 30 years
time will be able to post perfect pictures Wink

They're coming out the woodwork now, at least there's no "mullets" in your pics Andy.

This is one off the fridge in Harry's shop, he was always proud of that fish.
(For those who don't know, Harry worked in, or ran tackle shops in Rhyl for over 20yrs. Sadly no longer with us)

Nice shots Tony, keep em coming!

I always wanted to catch something worthy of putting on Harrys fridge. Spent many Saturday afternoons ferrying tea to his stall from the caff around the corner. Very Happy

The Cortina,,,,,,,,,,

A nice little Gurnard (about 8lb) if I remember rightly. Caught on Gordon (The Fishmonger) Evans's boat.
It was the noisiest Gurnard as well, grunting and groaning like a stuck pig, until it threw up all its stomach
contents which include a whole Dab,

Mike Bewick on Llandudno Pier early 1970's when you could fish anywhere you wanted, in any weather conditions, 24/7, for the princely sum of nowt, Notice the solid glass 8' pier rod with a Penn Delmar reel, cutting edge tackle.
