PostSubject: hi new on here   hi new on here EmptySun Jul 10, 2011 10:31 pm

Hi my names Dave i've been sea fishing for a couple of years now but still class myself as a beginner as i don't get out that often.
I'm looking at staying on ty mawr campsite from tomorrow for a few days with the intentions of doing the car boot at tir prince market on wednesday. The reason for this is i got made redundant last week because the company went into liquidation so doing the car boot would help fund my few days away. Does anybody know if it gets busy midweek this early in the season? is it worth coming from manchester to do it?

Because i won't have much room in the car i'm thinking of bringing a spinning rod is there any venues local worth trying? even if
its just feathering for mackeral that will do me as i've never caught one yet.

I know its properly a bit cheeky to ask in my first post but thanks for any replies.

Cheers Dave

Thanks Phil I don't think were coming this week now as the offer i had with the daily mail has apparently finished
even though it says it includes this week.

Cheers Dave

Hi,

a spinning rod will chuck a simple baited rig out as well, there's more to life than 6 oz leads and 3 hook flappers, 1 oz leads fly well enough, billy can be closer than you might think and in places where I wouldn't bother spinning and they are a lot of fun on light gear

Welcome to " Sunnyrhyl " Dave.

Sorry to hear about your job, seems to be the Norm these days nobody is safe anymore.

Like Paul says give it a go mate you never know what's in front of you, i see lads when i'm fly fishing trying to get all the line off the reel out and there's fish right in front of them, anyway have a go and keep us informed.

Steve.

Welcome in Dave!

Plenty of Mackeral showing to feathers off Llandudno North Shore and Colwyn Prom over high water.

Alternatively try finding some crab and fish Rhyl harbour for Flounders and Eels if you get up this way.

Tir Prince is busy at weekends but access is a problem. I would try Sainsburys at Rhyl on a Sunday as its heaving all summer long.
