With the mrs just finishing nights and being tired she said she was going to bed early and she suggested why dont you go out fishing for a few hours.
so without hesitation the box was packed fresh peelers in the bucket i was gone.
my mission was to target plaice at a spot near to home which i like to keep secret.
got there 3 hours before high . and set up 2 rods one with circle hook and the other my normal choice of stingers. on a single low down flapper.
with in minutes the stinger struck home and my 1st plaice.
well i thought there here and the bites came thick and fast every bite on the circle hook i missed.
then the stingers started to work all be it just flounder.
then a lull for about an hour till an hour before high and then i start to get different bites but unable to connect on both rods. one nearly took one rod out the rest so i pulled both in changed hooks to 2/0 loaded with crab . hey presto codling.
the bites started to slow down then last bite was again a flounder,
Nearly at high the bites stopped so i moved across to a beach. back to small hooks again and just the one rod straight away. the eels started.
had 4 in all. at this time to head home and the thoughts were the bites i missed were they decent codling.
