North Shore : Twisting by the pool

Llandudno North Shore Saturday 7.8.2010


Three hours up to High and first hour of the ebb.

Bait: Fresh and frozen lug, squid, sand eel ( plus donated rag for the last hour)
0h - & "feathers"


Plenty of wave thrashing going on.

As the Sun kissed Great Orme the chap to our right kissed a mackerel -caught on a shrimp rig,
signalling more earnest thrashing of the feathers and a few twisted lines along the beach.



So far as we know this was the only mackerel caught,
though I had a little finger sized pollack take a size 6 hook lure flash.
Hoping there was a mackerel shoal moving through I didn't stop for a pic.



After a long wait Maestro caught on squid an hour after High



If a passer-by's info was accurate, the mackerel, mini pollack and that doggie were the only fish landed,
all 3 from the first 100 yards right of the paddling pool

Unlucky it was the same friday 1 maccy 10 fishing but it tasted nice for my saturday supper

I had a launce on a spinner at the foot of it a couple of years ago, snaggy from the houses towards the cliffs but I reckon it could be a good spot to try a popper for bass!!
