Wasnt going to do a report but what the hell.
On my hols from wednesday so i thought id have a day on the island before i went. weather and tides wernt the best so we headed for a mark not far from lily pond. got there swell was to big and the wind a bit stronger than what the good old weather man had predicted. Set up one rod right out and one for maccie.
after a couple of hours we started to get cut off by the tide packed up and the score was 4 maccie (enough for bait) then we headed of to the rush to meet mal and kev. here we had a couple of wrasse and after a good natter we left mal and kev to it as by now id had enough of the wind.
Trying to think were we could go and avoid the numpty's we headed for llanbadrig. got there to a full car park and no were to park so we sat down and had a brew. ten minutes later lads sart to come through the church yard with bags of dead fish . it turned out to be a local match who prefer to fish catch and kill match's.
to be honest to see bag's of dead tiny wrasse and pollock is beyond me but each to there own.
got back in the car and headed a little bit east and after a ten minute walk found a nice rock mark.
started fishing just after high with both rods big baits atraight down close in.
nowt for the first hour. then some one turned the wrasse switch on.
all good stamp i must of head 15+.
with nick not far behind.
in between i had poor cod and pout. lost a good bite which i think was an eel. a few pollock.
then last cast a lobster. an hour before dark we decided to sack it as we were down to our last couple of weights as we had not brought many due to the fact we wernt going to go to a snagy mark.
walked back the car and headed back to cable bay and after stopping for some food we decided to call it a day and were home for ten.
plenty of fish again and good company.
