| Pwllheli – Haf Aled – Jason Owen 21st June 2017 Just a quick report – I am supposed to be decorating in the lounge, the Mussel Missus might not be happy if she finds out I am doing a forum report … My first outing with Jason Owen on his 10m cougar catamaran. We had a good day out. Made a change to fish here, although it is a much longer drive for me compared to the Rhyl boats. Fishing over St Patricks Causeway and also near Hells Mouth. I mostly targeted bream on baited feathers. Raw king prawn was the most successful bait, chopped into tiny pieces. I caught 10+ bream on the day, plus a few cat sharks, a big sandeel (!) , a pollack, and a monstrous spider crab that dropped off at the boat. One tope run for me (no hookup) although I only fished for them in the last hour. We had about 10 tope runs altogether, with one brought onto the boat and another jumping off at the boat. Surprisingly no mackerel were showing around this side of Wales. We only caught one between us all day. A few pics … |

| Great report, and a good day. The Welsh Riviera is a great area, pretty sheltered and plenty of different species. It's a long drive, but always worth the effort. We were catching Bream just outside the harbour about 200yds offshore. Nice tip on the prawns, looks like it's a good bait on the small hooks for the bream. |

The rest of my boat were sceptical at first. I think I caught as many as the rest of them put together. They were using squid and lug. I got 6 baits off one prawn, so it is not too expensive. Plus easy to get hold of at the supermarket. I have found it cheapest buying at fish counter than in a packet from the fridge/freezer. |

| I find Morrisons have the best selection, prawn, squid and other species. The bottom drawer of my freezer is jammed with bait, just need to get out there and use it |
