On the basis that I've read loads of blank reports on here recently (musselboy and I surely can't do any worse!) perhaps we should introduce a blanking contest ? ...

The venue ... Penmaenmawr (near sailing club)

The dogfish can be a bit lively on this beach so blanking could be a challenge.

The date ... Thursday 8th April
The time ... ~17:00 to 21:00
The prize ... The glory ... of being "blanker of the month"

The rules ...

Number of minutes from your first cast until your first fish. Time yourself.

You multiply the minutes by the number of hooks you use. The highest score wins.

Hooks must be between size 10 and a 4/0.

The more rods and hooks you use the more types of bait you must use. If you have 4 hooks out you must use at least 4 different baits at the same time (cocktails or different bait on each hook). Bait must be checked at least every 30 minutes.

Anyone considered not to be trying to catch fish could be dq'd. Unless what they are doing is funny (birdsnests, bad casting etc).

Cant make this but heres a tip.

Try a short cast into the rocky gulley at the bottom of the shingle to the left of the slipway. There should still be some blank saving slugs about there.

There is a good chance of a Flounder on the sand but im not sure if the water is warm enough for the Dogs yet?

Good luck!!!

Thanks for the info ... I'll try to encourage musselboy to cast short for the slugs so that I can out-blank him Smile
