For those of you interested in the long running battle over Colwyn Bay Pier, there have been some updates on the website ... http://www.victoriapier.com/ .
I signed a petition quite a while ago (10 downing street) and it has been updated with the below disappointing response after quite a lengthy wait ...
Petition
“We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to conduct a Public Enquiry into Conwy County Council’s bankrupting of Victoria Pier, Colwyn Bay.”
“Following a long dispute over knowingly incorrect Council Tax and Business Rates bills due at Victoria Pier, Colwyn Bay, which Conwy County Borough Council (CCBC) refused to correct, CCBC bankrupted the Pier owner after he refused to pay their untrue claim. We call on the Government to conduct a full Public Enquiry into CCBC’s handling of the whole affair.”
The Government response
