Tide - Up to High
Time - Night
Bait - Frozen Lug
Date - 15th January 2010

No more frozen feet. The big thaw had arrived and the brought with it an old friend......
The Wind!

The Pier offered minimal shelter from the strong Southerly. The rain held off so I guess it could have been worse!

The fishing was slow.
Tony was doing better than most on the end platform with a Codling a cast, and the odd Whiting.

Gladiator and Joker were into Dabs, Whiting, Codling and Rockling.

Simon was losing a few rigs on the end and so relocated to the 3rd cabin down.
Small Codling were there in good numbers.
Headwyn, myself and Ian were by the bar and were fairly quiet.
Headwyn was probably the busiest with a selection of Dabs, Whiting and Codling.

I struggled and ended up with a couple of Codling and a Whiting.

The bait trap wasn't doing any better.
A Rockling was keeping a small edible company for the duration.

Close to High, the wind really got up.
So much so that we all decided that discretion was the better part of valor.

Not the best session, but I can now at least claim to have caught a fish in 2010!!!

It wasnt a bad little session, i think i ended up with 2 small Codling, a couple of respectable Dabs,

and my first Whiting of the year for the hunt.

Still no luck on the Shore Rockling. Its not a good sign when you think you`re fishing into the rocks and start pulling in Dabs. Rolling Eyes

I was glad to get back to the car after the wind picked up and made it quite uncomfortable. I hope the forecast is correct and the wind has dropped by tonight.

think the cost of hire has gone up now to 30 quid ...phone no 07786076680 sara ...the tides next week are cxxp for fishing the pier best ones are high around 11pm giving you the run up to high and 3 hours of the drop which seem to produce more fish

I thoroughly enjoyed the evening (1t time for about 4 years since I fished it)

As the others have said the wind was horrnedous, and to be honest thats why we all left when we did !

I manages 3 whiting, one of which was a cracker, and a couple of codling , I will put the pics on tomorrow when I get back to work !
