Full of optimism we set out at silly o'clock & with 2 cod in the cool box within the first hour thoughts of a bumper session kept the freezing conditions at the back of our minds, but as the tide began to drop & an increase in the volume of spam text messages from mytime it bacame apparent we were not the only ones struggling to find the fish.
A change of tactics saw a steady stream of small coddies dabs & whiting making it to the boat but sadly nothing worth a photo.
I think we had 5 keepers between the 3 boats.

The Wirral Boat Club had a match today & it seemed everyone was struggling today, with only small catches for them as well.

same on the charter boats, only heard of one cod caught between them insize. 6lb though. we had plaenty of small codling, loads of good dabs and whiting and 3 rays. been a few rays still showing the last few days and quite a few keepable cod but struggled for them today
