Being a novice.

Whats Ragworm best for catching with.

Called in Lionels last week for some fresh lug, but nothing there, so last resort was Ragworm.

Fished the Pier last friday with a few more Novices, but had frozen Lug which lasted the night.

Now i'm left with a ruck of worms...

Any info will be gratefully recieved..

We very rarely fish without taking at least 1/4lb of rag between us. ( Me and Daddy )

I cant think of much that doesnt take rag, if anything.

This time of year, you will catch Whiting, Dabs and Flounder on it from local beaches. Some days they prefer Lug, but if they arent biting then Rag could attract a fish.

Dogs love Rag, either fished on its own or elasticated to a sandeel.

After xmas the rockling will be out in force. They love Rag!

Bass are often caught on big king rag or bunches of smaller ones.

As already stated, i wouldnt consider going off the rocks without a couple of packs of rag. Wrasse go mental for it and it can be used in small pieces on tiny hooks for all sorts of mini species if that floats your boat.

Conger will occasionally take king rag too.

Rag vary in size from maddies, which can be dug in the Foryd and are tiny. They are usually hooked through the head on small hooks and fished in bunches but cant be cast very far, to king rag that can be over 3 feet in length and can be cut up into sections and give out loads of scent.

The beauty of rag is the scent trail as well as the visual movment of all the little legs wriggling while on the hook.
