Venue - Mersey
Bait - Lug, squid
Duration - 8hrs
Boat - Explorer

Thought we would give the Mersey a try for some cod after hearing positive things on the grape vine. Timed our arrival for sun up & were on the water before 8. First cast for me saw a codling of 3 lb the rest of the ebb saw whiting & pouting. As the tide turned our expectations lifted dogfish, more whiting, thornbacks & 1 micro codling plus another of about 2 lb.
One more small boat out they had nothing much to report.

Well, it is true!
I was out on the river on Tuesday as well.

No fishing rods though.
It was my commercial endorsement examination.

Luckily for me, I passed, although as darkness fell, there was a nervous half hour spent trying to find an unlit Sewer Buoy just beyond the Rock Channel.

I'd like to thank Tony and Simon for their assistance in all of this. Also thanks to Mark, Jason and Del for helping me get my hours up.
