Venue -Talacre Tide - Low Time - Afternoon till early evening 15-30 till 19-30 Bait - Fresh Lug, Frozen Lug, Frozen Mackerel, Frozen Squid and Frozen Peeler Crab Date - 18th October 2009Weather - Dry,very slight wind 3mph and reasonably warm After suffering a blank at Pensarn a couple of hours earlier i headed out to the Green bouy at Talacre with renewed determination.Fortunately i have never suffered a blank at this venue,a venue i have fished on and off since i was 8 years old. When possible i prefer a night tide as this venue usually fishes twice as well as in the day.My plan today was to really go for it with 2 rods both set up with 3 hook flappers with 5oz breakaway leads and size 1 hooks.Action was instant again today first cast a double shot of Whiting to Frozen Lug Tipped with Mackerel.Cast the first rod back in and the second one is registering a good knock, this time a Hat-trick of 2 Good sized Dabs and a Whiting. It was like this for the whole session,so much so had to have 2 spare 3 hook flappers hung ready baited on my rod rest ready to change each time i reeled in.Only once did i real in without a fish on today.I counted 15 Hat-tricks,10 double shots coupled with many singles today.I would say 70 percent of the Dabs were well in size and caught mosly on Lug with long thin strips of Squid. The Whiting were tending to favour fresh lug and Mackerel,i would say 35% of them were a really good size.By the end of the session i was shattered and had used bait to the grand total of 7 frozen Mackerel,3 packs of fresh Lug,3 Packs of frozen Lug,10 large frozen peeler Crab divided in to quarters and a box of Squid.I have not seen Talacre fish this well in the early afternoon for many years.I packed up ready for the walk back sadly not knowing exactly just how many fish i had caught today.A busy but very enjoyable session...I will be back soon.

Thanks Headwyn....Hope your right about it continuing for the next few months,i think the only thing that is likely to change the catch rates is some heavy doses of rain which almost always lowers the catch rates on the Dee.Thanks for the reminder about the compass,i do always have one with me along with at least 3 sources of light and at least 1 charged mobile.

Its fun out there in the fog. Been there and done it twice now. Still here to tell the tale thanks to proper precautions. It would be a good place for a site meet in the next few months, good fishing then all into the pub for a pint after the walk back. Ideal!
