Venue - Llandudno Pier
Tide - 2hrs before Low to 2hrs Before High
Time - Day
Bait: Fresh Rag
Date: 29th June 2009

I fancied a bit of easy fishing, so Llandudno Pier on a sunny day seemed like a good idea.

Armed with just my Conolon and 7000, I was out on a bit of a mini species hunt.
Dropping down a single size 8 hook baited with tiny Rag sections.

All was quiet. Low water came and went without a sniff.
Others were faring better. The Mackerel were in and were coming in by the stringfull. I saw a few Launce and a couple of Herring also landed on feathers.
The lads with baited hooks were into Doggies and the occasional Tub Gurnard.

2 hours after Low, I eventually had my first bite.
A small Pollock took as I dropped down.

This method proved very succesfull. The rig was dropped over the side and after hitting the water, gradually let down a foot at a time in a 'jerky' manner.
More often than not, i'd get a bite.
Numerous Pollock followed, with a few decent fish managing to drop off on the lift up.

When my bait did find the sea bed, the mini species had now woken up.

A couple of Blennies. (Tompot??)

Loads of Corkwings.

A few Pouting also added to the numbers.

Elsewhere, the Mackerel were still in and were providing the galleries with a bit of a spectacle.

Time was up for me. By now, the bites were constant and instant. I didn't want to leave Smile

This great venue had produced once again!
Happy Days!!!

(A day ticket can be purchased from the Pier Tackle Shop for £3.)

Nice one Mike.

I usually find the minis come onto the feed when the water is high enough to wash over the bottom slab.
