Paul new the guy as he used to work at the Explorer boat factory where he got his boat from. I asked him how much their fees were he said they were £220.00, he looked a bit shocked when I told that Prestatyn Sailing Club did a deal with North Wales Power & Sail, I paid £120.00

The bad news was that the remnants of Hurricane Bill had turned our 12hr shark hunt into an 8hr wreck and general trip.

This didn't stop us making it 22 miles offshore to drift a few wrecks.

The Pollock were here in numbers. Bites were instant with fish to 4lb coming in allround.

Simon picked up us from the new pontoon. Unfortunately, he picked up more than he bargained for.

A mooring rope snagged around the prop meant that there was only one thing for it.

Venue - Rhyl

Duration - 8 hrs

Bait: Fresh Lug, Fresh Mackerel, Frozen Squid, Peeler Crab, Live Shrimp

Boat - Suveran II

Skipper - Simon Parry

Date - 23rd May 2009

With a good selection of baits, today's plan was to fish various marks and just see what we could pick up.

First up, we anchored by a wreck that does produce Bream in the summer months.

There were lots of fish to be had. Pouting, Poor Cod, Dabs, Whiting and Doggies were all coming up at a steady rate.

First trip of the season out to the wind farm in search of some early summer species, drifted for some Mackerel amongst the turbines,

they were a bit thin on the ground but still managed to find half a dozen, so it was off to the Calcium to see what was around. We anchored behind the Rhyl boats

Location - Prestatyn

Duration - 5hrs

Weather - Blustery, showers

Bait - Fresh lug, Crab

Took a quick run out today with Mike (Fairziff) aboard on the chance of some decent weather, although blustery & with the wind off the land we stayed inshore in the hope of Bass & smoothound. We managed dabs & both common & starry smoothound, but left the bass for another day
