Weather looked good so decided to get the boat and give it a go
fished at the front of the wind farm just on the side of the channel
not a lot happened just a few gurnard and fatties
we moved out to just of the calcium and found lots and lots of mackeys
also there were a lot of weavers around
then the weather turned for the worst so pulled the anchor and headed in visibility was down to 15 feet with the mist and rain so turned the radar on so not to hit a wind mill
as we headed towards land it started to clear but decided to head in any way
got back to the club and had a cuppa and cooked a few mackeral on the bar-B-qu
with a few chili peppers
1 hour later decided to try again got to the wind farm and dropped the anchor loaded up with mackerel we dropped a few over the side
was straight into the tope first run I could not stop just kept taking the line managed to slow the fish down and started to re-claim some line got it to the side of the boat and it was a big fish then it just dived under the boat and snapped the wire trace
we had 3 more runs of the same 2 we managed to get to the side and unhook just to big to land on the boat
changed the hook to a 6/0 on 200 pound mono and managed to land 3 smaller tope around 15 pounds
also lots of dogs
by this time was knackered and called it a day so headed back to the club great end to a busy day
will post photos when I work out how to remove from phone
